equaTEK interactive has taken what works (business networking combined with food) and made it even better. equaTEK gathers business professionals once a month for amazing breakfast foods and casual networking in an almost-homelike atmosphere. "It's all to make connections and bring out the best in people," says equaTEK relationship manager Sue Mayo Smith
. "We gather local professionals around the breakfast table in our own building to share and laugh and network in a great relaxed atmosphere." One of the keys to their success is homemade food created by both owners: Dave Madison and Ed Hanchett. "We want to help our Rochester economic community grow and build relationships with integrity - bringing them into our neighborhood," says Ed Hanchett.
equaTEK began Breakfast Beginnings several years ago and we used to meet at a local restaurant. With our move to a new location in East Rochester, we now have the room to hold Breakfast Beginnings
, seminars (equaTEK University
) and training events in our own building. Everything happens in "The Hub" - a 400 square foot room that has a cozy feel and smells heavenly in the morning. In fact, when you walk into the building, the aroma of fresh coffee, homemade pancakes, and hot sausage leads each person through the halls and into the gathering. The agenda is casual: take time to network on your own and later introduce yourself and your business to the group. You are even encouraged to share your hobbies, family, and other interesting facts that may connect you with others in the room.
